101 Films presents THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK (1958), released on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK.

The film was directed by sci-fi specialist Eugène Lourié (Gorgo) and benefits from a haunting, minimalistic piano score from composer Van Cleave.

    Synopsis:

After the accidental death of a brilliant scientist, his lunatic father and brother transplant the dead man’s brain into the body of a giant robot. The operation is successful, but the Colossus Robot mourns for his wife and child, and unwilling to be the guinea pig in his father’s psychotic project, begins to demonstrate homicidal behaviours.

Extras included on the release include a brand new audio commentary with film historians Allan Bryce and Richard Holliss.

101 Films has released THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK on Blu-ray and you can order it on 101 Films website HERE or via the Amazon link below.
