“Video Wasteland”, the debut album by DRACULA PARTY

Peter 'Witchfinder' HopkinsBy Peter 'Witchfinder' Hopkins14th October 20211 Comment3 Mins Read

The Seattle based Horror Industrial band, Dracula Party have released their debut album, Video Wasteland, on all digital platforms.

Now available to order on Bandcamp: https://draculaparty.bandcamp.com/album/video-wasteland

The follow-up to their EP, The Devil Wears a Mask (2019), Video Wasteland is a synth-driven exploration of 80s and 90s VHS Horror films. Combining elements of Industrial, EBM, Synthesizer Movie Scores, and Darkwave, every track feels like a living Horror film; one you can dance to.

Frontman, Byron C. Miller, recalls the inspiration for the album, “When I was a horror geek teen in the early 90s I would read about these awesome sounding straight to video horror films in Fangoria Magazine. These titles were often hard to find at your local mom and pop video store. Enter, The Video Wasteland, a VHS rent by mail, movie service that specialized in obscure Horror. It’s how I first saw Peter Jackson’s Meet the Feebles, Herzog’s Nosferatu, the Argento cut of Dawn of the Dead, Scooter McCrae’s Shatter Dead, and many more! We always knew that the Dracula Party album would dive deeper into the genre and celebrating VHS cult horror seemed like the perfect theme! Every song is an homage to a beloved horror film I first discovered on VHS. This album feels like an all-night movie party with your friends! Something you can dance to at the spooky club, or dive into on a cold, dark night; hopefully with sunglasses on.”

Dracula Party is Byron C. Miller (Vocals, Lyrics) and Chris Longo (Music, Mixing, Mastering). Byron has a long history of performance in music, film, and beyond. As a teen/young adult, Byron performed in local bands, and was an actor in various Haunt attractions including playing Jack Torrance at Universal Studios Florida, Halloween Horror Nights. For 7 years (02-09) Byron was the co-frontman of the Industrial band, God Module, playing shows across the globe. As a filmmaker, Byron directed two features (NIGHT, The Anatomy of Monsters), shorts, and a number of music videos for various bands (The Break Up, Cylab, Legion Within, etc.). Byron returned to music in 2016 as the lead singer/lyricist for the shock rock band, Ghosts in the Graveyard. In 2019, Byron returned to Industrial when he teamed up with Chris Longo to form Dracula Party.

Chris Longo’s roots are with the New York hardcore scene. He got his start performing music as guitarist of the punk/deathrock band The Uncommitted. His love for dark music drew him to the electronic with his solo project, Idoless. Chris brings all of these inspirations and a love of horror films and scores to Dracula Party.
