Film Review: DEMON RESURRECTION (2008)

DEMON RESURRECTION *** U.S.A. 2008 Dir: William Hopkins 88 mins

Toth (played by Will Mcdonald with oily creepiness) a mysterious cult lead is out to get Grace back in his cult as she is carrying demon spawn. In his way stand her partner and her friends who will have to fight against the dark supernatural forces that are coming for them.
Filmed on Long Island, New York this independent film shows what can be done with a modest budget and a hard working team in front and behind the camera. Originally shot back in 2004 and released in 2008, this demon/zombie film gives more then a nod to the films it is inspired by. Obvious things are the zombies who look like the undead seen in Andrea Bianchi's gut chomping 1981 film BURIAL GROUND. Another is the 70's/80's way it is filmed which will have many an exploitation and horror fan foaming at the mouth in delight. William Hopkins only other directorial credit is to the little seen 2002 vampire flick SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. It is a shame he never made any other movies outside of these as he has a talent that needs to be seen more.
